You can use for most of the ceiling fans a remote control or a wall mount control.

For the installation of the remote control you only need 3-wires to control fan and light separately. The Hunter remotes IV and V are already preconnected with a special Hunter plug for all Hunterfans. It can be used also for other models but you have to cut the plug.

If you like to control fan and light seperately with a wall control you need a 5-wiring.

To change the direction of your fan you normally have a switch at the motor housing.

Exceptions : Alchemy ( Hunter ), Air Shadow ( Fanimation ), Peninsula (Vam), Loft (Vam) - Only these models have a a remote control which controls also the reverse function of the fan.
